||Heather Bowling Lanes, located in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, is the "go to" bowling destination for Pictou County residents. Founded in 1968 by Bill Sobey, the center was named after Bill's daughter Heather. Originally located on the Westside of New Glasgow as a 16 lane centre, the facility expanded to a 20 lane centre when it moved to its current location in 1993. At one time, Bill and his family owned 4 bowling alleys under the Heather Lanes name (New Glasgow, Glace Bay, Sydney, and Sackville) but now only the New Glasgow location remains.
The facility's focus is Candlepin Bowling, which is a type of bowling played primarily in the Canadian Maritime provinces and the New England states of the United States. We offer Youth Bowling Programs, Adult Bowling Leagues, Cosmic Bowling, Birthday Parties, and much more. Strongly community oriented, Heather Bowling Lanes strives to provide a welcoming environment for anyone wanting to enjoy the sport of bowling in Pictou County!
